For the last 50 years, Papworth Trust have offered essential services to disabled and older people including care and support, leisure and learning activities, help with work and training and rehabilitation.
The Allotment Project has been going now for 8 years, supporting adults with a learning disability to have the opportunity of experiencing working in a garden environment and the benefits this brings.
Not only having the opportunity of taking home some of the vegetables they have helped to grow and nurture, but also the benefits of gentle exercise, outdoors. The vegetables grown also get used in the centres healthy eating groups menus.
